Push notifications get buried with everything else on your phone. Sending stock alerts to Telegram puts them in one searchable chat that shows up on your phone, tablet and desktop at the same time. Here's why it works well and how to set it up for free.
Why Telegram is good for stock alerts
- Every device. Telegram syncs across phone and desktop, so you see the alert on whatever screen you're using.
- A searchable history. Every alert stays in the chat. Want to know when a stock last crossed $200? Search it.
- Its own notification settings. Give the alerts chat a distinct sound or let it break through when other chats are muted.
- Separate from noise. Alerts don't compete with dozens of other app notifications.
Set it up with Triggerly
- Install Triggerly on Android (free, no ads).
- Open @triggerly_app_bot in Telegram and tap Start. The bot replies with your Chat ID.
- Paste that Chat ID into Triggerly Settings and turn Telegram on. Push, email, and Telegram are account-wide settings, so this applies to every alert.
- Create an alert: price target, percent move, volume spike, price crossing a moving average, 14-day RSI, MACD, trailing stop, or a combination. It uses the channels you turned on in Settings.
Tips
- Pin the alerts chat so it stays at the top.
- Turn on both push and Telegram in Settings if you want every alert on both. Channels are account-wide, so one alert can't go to Telegram only while another goes by push.
- Keep the list tidy. If an alert fires often and you ignore it, raise the threshold or delete it.
What about email?
Triggerly can also email you. The email includes a link that opens the alert, where you can read Alert Analysis. Email is good for a record of alerts you review in the evening; Telegram is better for things you want to see right away.
